In light of the challenging times we are all facing with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we wanted to update our valued customers and followers with how we are dealing with the situation at Flecks Cakes.
We recognise the increased uncertainty that Coronavirus may be causing and would like to offer our reassurances that the health and wellbeing of our team, drivers, you our valued customers and your loved ones is always our number one priority.
At this time, we are still open for business and we will be following the guidance provided by the World Health Organisation and the British government and to only accept and deliver orders where we feel it is safe to do so.
Orders will now also be available for delivery to your home (postcodes available for deliveries are – BB1,BB2,BB3,BB5,BB6,BB10,BB11,BB12) and our shop has strict guidelines in place for collections but I am still available to contact if there is anything you need via telephone – 01254 702415.
Health & Hygiene
As a food business we already maintain strict hygiene procedures in production. To limit exposure and for the health of the team here at Flecks, along with that of our customers – our staff numbers have been reduced and therefore, at this time I am only able to do certain cake designs and there will be a limit to the number of orders that can be placed for each date available.
We have equipped our delivery driver with gloves, sanitisers and wipes to use before and after every delivery. We have also implemented contactless delivery which means the driver will leave the package on the doorstep or safe place and not request a signature, removing the need for any direct contact.
Contactless deliveries procedure
We will be doing contactless deliveries as we hope will offer peace of mind and protection for everyone.
We have advised our driver to follow the below guidance when making a delivery:
- Put the cake in a suitably safe place.
- Ring the doorbell to alert the recipient that the delivery has taken place and then stand back two metres from the door in case the recipient answers.
- If the door is not opened we will try to contact the customer via telephone. If no contact is made the cake will either be left in a suitable place or taken back to our shop where the recipient will have to arrange collection.
- If the recipient chooses to open the door stay at least two metres away while communicating with the recipient, ensuring the delivery service is truly contact free
In store collections are now available with strict guidelines in place. When you arrive at the shop please ensure you are wearing a face mask or covering.
We are here for our customers
We completely understand the disruption this virus has caused to everyone’s daily lives and the impact it may have on our customers’ plans.
Whilst our cancellation policy still applies, as a gesture of goodwill and if we are given a full week’s notice, we will waive any cancellation fees and offer a gift voucher of the full value of the order. This voucher can be redeemed at any later date when you are ready to celebrate again and has no expiry.
Your support means everything
Like most other small businesses, we are in a very strange, unprecedented and uncertain landscape, but we are trying to keep hope and positivity. Implementing stricter hygiene measures is ultimately a great thing and makes us a better business. Caring for our vulnerable, elderly and neighbours is bringing out the best from us as a community. And whether it’s spreading joy through our small birthday cakes, being able to celebrate an occasion (no matter how small) in isolation, or even if it’s sending a gift cake to make someone smile or to let them know you miss them – is the biggest motivation we could ever have.
We thank you all for your kind words, loyalty & support from the bottom of our hearts.
Lots of love,
Sammy and all of the team here at Flecks Cakes xx
